KENNEBUNKPORT PROPERTY SEARCH

Kennebunkport, Maine is a picturesque town in York County. With a population of just under 4,000 residents, it is perhaps best known as the location of the summer home of former president George H. W. Bush.

The town center located along the Kennebunk River, approximately one-half mile (1 km) from the mouth of the river on the ocean. Historically, Kennebunkport is a fishing village, but in recent decades the town has become a popular seaside tourist resort with a quaint shopping area filled with souvenir shops, art galleries, upscale seafood restaurants as well as clam shacks, and bed and breakfasts.

Its reputation as an upscale community comes from the numerous large seaside estates along Ocean Avenue and other coastal thoroughfares. The famous "Bush Compound" is located on Walker's Point, a peninsula visible from Ocean Avenue. During the fall, Kennebunkport is a frequent stop for tour buses showing visitors the famous New England fall colors. Kennebunkport and neighboring Kennebunk comprise Maine School Administrative District 71.

Cape Porpoise remains as a coastal village in the town, along with Goose Rocks Beach another seaside settlement.
